Main Minecraft server changelog

Post by knutremi » Wed Sep 04, 2013 6:30 pm

This is the public changelog for the server. In this topic we post about changes to how things work on the server if they concern you.

This might also become a sort of raw source of info about how things are done on the server. If things come to your mind when reading this, ask in the chat or where ever you usually find us.

SuperVIP's and above can now use /enchant . This is to allow them to put enchantments on their own items. The best practices for the use of this command are the same as for regular spawning of items.

Neither animals nor monsters should now be able to spawn naturally in flatlands now. This was because it's not meant for survival. Thanks to CaptainZuzlike for the suggestion.

I added leather to the buyable items.
Leather: 2c because that's the price of raw pork.

And I added the block known as Bricks in Minecraft to the item names. Brick still referrs to the non-placeable item. Perhaps I should lower the price now as well since clay is more common now.

Multiverse made some strange configuration changes in a recent update. I fixed the permission issues, and players are now allowed to use /mvlist as well.

We've disabled the spam protection features of GriefPrevention because unlike the plugin creator, we're not anal about how people speak on our server. We were waiting for version 7.8 which lets us customize a lot of behaviors. But after seeing how the spam filter even attacks behavior I'd encourage, we figured it's doing us more harm than good. Now if only the US government realized the same about how the NSA is influencing computer protection mechanisms used by the military, the president, online commerce, infrastructure and other crucial parts of a modern society.

We've updated to 1.6.4 now. You can change to the default profile in Mincraft to connect now.

We're now testing out some plugins and mods that lets us relay chats between our FTB and Minecraft servers via IRC. If people generally think it's a good idea, we're keeping them.
